Vodstvo po razstavi: četrtek, 24. 4. 2025, ob 17. uri. Avtorjema se bosta pridružila še Barbara Borčić ter dr. Dan Podjed.

Razstava predstavlja aktualna dela, ki na inovativen način združujejo kiparstvo, video in performans. Kinetične instalacije, zgrajene iz monitorjev, so hkrati fizični objekti in elektronske podobe, objekti v prostoru in podobe na ekranu, so skulpture in video. Tretji element postavitve pa je performans, uprizorjen za kamero, ki priča o običajnih gestah in ponavljajoči se rutini vsakdana, ki izčrpava in pacificira. Ustvarjalni postopki, kompleksen instrumentarij, uporaba medija in tematski okvir postanejo razpoznavni gradniki prakse umetniške dvojice. Tvorijo avtorski opus, za katerega so značilna načela performativnosti in tesna vpetost v vse kreativne faze nastanka dela ter procesualnost v grajenju pripovedi, ki imajo družbene razsežnosti. Umetnika v svojih delih uprizarjata ideološko ujetost in manipulativnost medijev, z njimi pa sprožata emocionalni učinek in dramaturško vpletenost občinstva.
Kot tandem na področju sodobne umetnosti delujeta od leta 2003. V svoji ustvarjalni praksi raziskujeta sodobno družbo pod vplivom medijev in kapitala ter njeno vizualno in lingvistično strukturo. Razstavljala sta na vidnih mednarodnih prizoriščih in prejela številne nagrade, med njimi priznanje Riharda Jakopiča.

The exhibition presents current works that innovatively combine sculpture, video and performance. The kinetic installations built from monitors are at the same time physical objects and electronic images, objects in space and images on the screen, they are sculptures and video. The third element of the installation is a performance staged behind the camera, which bears witness to the ordinary gestures and repetitive routines of everyday life, which exhaust and pacify. The creative processes, the complex instrumentarium, the use of the medium and the thematic framework become the distinctive building blocks of the practice of the artistic duo. They form an oeuvre characterised by the principles of performativity and close involvement in all creative stages of the work’s creation, as well as processuality in the construction of narratives that have social dimensions. In their works, the artists perform the ideological entrapment and manipulativeness of the media, triggering an emotional impact and dramaturgical involvement of the audience.
They have been working as a duo in the field of contemporary art since 2003. In their creative practice, they explore contemporary society under the influence of media and capital and its visual and linguistic structure. They have exhibited at prominent international venues and have received numerous awards, including the Rihard Jakopič Award.
